Loan calculators

Know your monthly EMI, the full cost of a loan, and what prepaying saves.

Which one should I use?

  • EMI calculator — works for any loan repaid in equal monthly instalments: home, car, personal and education loans. It shows the EMI, the total interest and the year-by-year split.
  • Loan prepayment calculator — for a loan you already have. It shows how much interest a part-payment saves, and whether reducing the EMI or the tenure is better.

Your EMI depends on three things: the amount you borrow, the interest rate and the number of months. A longer tenure lowers the EMI, but you pay more interest in total.

For example, ₹10,00,000 at 9% a year for 20 years (240 months) has an EMI of ₹8,997.26. Over the full term you pay ₹11,59,342 in interest — more than the amount you borrowed.

Taking a new loan or comparing offers? Use the EMI calculator. Got a bonus and an existing loan? Use the prepayment calculator.

The results do not include processing fees, insurance, prepayment charges or changes in a floating rate. Ask your lender for the full cost.

Planning to save for a down payment instead? The SIP and FD calculators show how a monthly or one-time amount could grow.
